Burning Calories While Exercising Your Cat
Vigorous exercise with cats is not only
possible but fun!
MetPet.com Staff Writer
Actively playing with your cat is not just
good for her, it is also a good substitute for a trip to the gym or a walk
around the block. Along with providing a great bonding experience and
stress reduction, active play can burn a surprisingly large number of
calories for both of you.
We based these estimates on a 135 lb individual. A smaller person will burn
fewer calories while a larger person will burn more calories. In
addition, the more active you are, the more stairs you climb the more
calories you will burn.
We've also provided comparisons to other activities which show the really
great benefit of active play with your cat. So the next time you see
someone jogging with Rover, you can tell them that you and Fluffy have
already done your exercise for the day.
