Cat Acne

Can cats get acne from food bowls?

MetPet.com Staff Writer

If your cat has developed red bumps on his chin, he could have cat acne.  Cats can develop allergic reactions to some plastic food and water bowls.  Ask your vet if the kitty acne on his chin could be a result of his dinnerware.  You can always switch to porcelain or steel if you suspect an adverse reaction.

In severe cases, the bumps on his chin can become infected requiring surgery to remove the tissue.
